The only track other than Track 1 where I had the recording first and picked an image to go with it. The accompanying painting in this case is "Slaughterhouse Ruins at Alepo" by Gertrude Abercrombie, who was known as a friend and supporter of musicians on the Chicago jazz scene and as someone who was haunted and maybe solipsistic but simultaneously very charming (which, let's be real, is all any of us sad bastards can hope for). She admitted to her paintings being reflections of her interior world, and as a consumer lured by sensationalism, I expect nothing less. I cut the painting title short to make it a snappier song title, and I like how sort of post-punk the phrase feels.
A moody, enveloping record from Zane Coppard, where dense and intricately crafted atmospheres cradle yearning vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 1, 2021
Intimate pop; Bollinger's vocals sound almost confidential as she muses on relationship neuroses over woozy, breezy instrumentation. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 18, 2019
